BUTTS OUT: COCC MOVES TOWARD FIRST-IN-THE-STATE TOBACCO-FREE POLICY
Decades ago, when community colleges were still called junior
colleges, the joke was that junior college was “high school with
ashtrays.”
Although the ashtrays are long gone from the classrooms, smoking
is still very much a part of the Central Oregon Community College
scene. But that will change radically under a new policy endorsed
by COCC’s student government that will make COCC the first
“tobacco-free” college campus in Oregon.
