DECISION COMING ON SUBURBAN SMOKING BAN LIFT

Some south suburban officials will meet on Friday afternoon to
decide whether a smoking ban should be lifted temporarily.
As CBS 2's Mai Martinez reports, the smoking bans went into
effect on Jan. 2 in Orland Park, Oak Forest and Tinley Park, and
the bans include bars.
But owners of bars such as Sam Maguire's Irish Pub and
Restaurant in Orland Park are hoping they will soon be able to
coax smokers back into their businesses.
The owners say the smoking ban has driven many of their smoking
customers to bars and restaurants in nearby suburbs which allow
smoking.
