LAKE CO. POISED TO BAN SMOKING
Round two of the public debate on restricting smoking in Lake
County reinforced the obvious: The county board has a tough
decision ahead of it next week.
About 50 people, representing both sides of the debate, attended
Monday’s two-hour hearing at Antioch Community High School to
weigh in on a proposed ordinance that would ban smoking inside
all enclosed public places and workplaces in unincorporated Lake
County.
The hearing came down to rights: the right to work and play in a
smoke-free environment versus the right to run a business without
interference.
