LANDRY'S DRUG STORE FACING LOSS OF ITS TOBACCO LICENSE
Authorities nabbed the owner of Landry's Drug Store in St.
Johnsbury for selling cigarettes to an undercover minor last
month.
Selectmen now plan to consider revoking or suspending the
store's tobacco license, said Selectman Gary Reis on Thursday.
"We've got to to do something about it," he said. "I just don't
know what it is."
Selectmen plan to invite Jerry Cote, an investigator for the
Vermont Department of Liquor Control, and store owner Paul Ravel
to the next board meeting to address the issue. . . .
There were two in the past year, Cote in a letter to St.
Johnsbury Town Manager Mike Welch in March.
"Both of the sales were made by Mr. Paul Ravel," Cote states. "I
am concerned about this establishment."
Cote wants selectmen to consider suspending or revoking Ravel's
tobacco license.
