PROPOSAL WOULD BAN SMOKING IN LOGAN PARKS AND CEMETERIES
Smoking in parks, cemeteries and at gatherings with more than 50
people would be banned under an ordinance the City Council is
considering.
"My basic premise behind it is for the health and welfare
of our community," Council Chairman Steven Taylor said. "I'm not
trying to take rights away from smokers, but if you choose to use
tobacco, use it where it doesn't have an impact on anyone else."
City Attorney Kymber Housley said if the council approves
the measure on Tuesday, violators would face a $25 fine.
