REIS PLANS TO VOTE AGAINST SMOKING BILL
By the end of April, the state House of Representatives will vote
on legislation to create a smoke-free Illinois, banning smoking
in all public places and places of employment in Illinois.
The bill was passed by the Senate on March 29 with a vote of
34-23.
The House voted March 29 to reject legislation that would
prohibit smoking in cars if any passenger is 8 years old or
younger.
Republican State Rep. David Reis said he voted no, as did 90 of
his fellow representatives, deeming the bill to be an
enforcement fiasco.
