SMOKE BAN IS BACK
Naperville's city council resurrected the proposed citywide
public smoking ban Wednesday, but ban proponents hope it's not
merely a smokescreen.
Faced with the possibility that the ban could be untouchable for
62 days because of an archaic parliamentary procedure, the
council revived the proposal and put it back on its April 18
agenda.
Later in the meeting, Councilman Doug Krause successfully pushed
for a second smoking ban ordinance for consideration that mirrors
the language of a state bill recently approved by the state
Senate.
