SMOKING SECTIONS
On Monday, April 9, student senate approved a new smoke-free zone
policy recommendation that will be passed on to the
administrative board by the end of the month.
According to Steven Thompson, Tawas City sophomore and student
senate member, the new plan establishes a smoke-free perimeter
extending 15-feet from dormitory buildings. Those who want to
smoke will be allowed to do so in designated areas located
outside of the smoke-free perimeter.
The proposed changes will only affect two dormitories on
campus¡ÖWesley and Seaton. If passed by the administration, the
new policy would be adopted for one calendar year and then be
re-evaluated by student senate and president Randall in April
2008.
