--Reps. James Rutherford, D-Columbia, and Jim Merrill, R-Daniel
Island, want to prohibit smoking in restaurants and bars, except
cigar bars and private clubs, among other exemptions.
"Most folks put things in to show where they stand on issues and
to reiterate to their constituents what's important to them,"
Merrill said.
