US says passive smoking 'fatal'
THE United States Surgeon General released a report today saying definitively that secondhand smoke kills people and calling for comprehensive bans on workplace smoking.
The report cites "massive" evidence that environmental tobacco smoke causes cancer, heart disease, worsens asthma and respiratory disease and can cause Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, also known as cot death or crib death.
